Retailers not seeing tax refund influx.

Sep. 16--Millions of dollars are making their way into the local economy as Helena property owners have been quick to request their $400 tax refunds from the state.

Through Wednesday, more than $3.3 million had been paid out by the Department of Revenue to Helena residents alone, with the figure swelling to more than $4.5 million when surrounding communities are included.

Local retailers aren't reporting a surge in business, though some said it's still early, and expect a slight influx in coming weeks as people decide what to do with the windfall.
