Sep. 17--Righthander Brad Thompson, whose last start on Sept. 9 lasted only two innings at Arizona, will return to the Cardinals' rotation tonight to face the Philadelphia Phillies and righthander Kyle Kendrick.
Thompson will be making his 15th start of the season and his first against the Phillies although he lost in relief to the Phillies in relief on June 24, 5-1. Before Sept. 9, Thompson hadn't started since July 28 and even found himself in Memphis for a couple of weeks before being recalled.
