TWO DECISIONS
A half hour before each City Council meeting, Eden Prairie provides a 30-minute open forum. Last week, the forum went long and the room was packed. Groups of residents held posters that said, "SAVE our historic Smith-Douglas-More House." Others wore stickers that read "You're cutting our city to pieces!"
They're two hot issues: The city is considering selling the historic house, which Dunn Bros. now rents as a coffee shop. And this fall, the council will decide whether to decrease its social service spending as suggested by City Manager Scott Neal in his budget proposals.
