Sep. 18--LAKE WYLIE -- Ellen Goff was unanimously appointed 15-0 Wednesday to lead the Lake Wylie Covekeepers.
"I think her passion and commitment to the health of Lake Wylie and the community is what's going to make her a good lakekeeper," said Catawba Riverkeeper Donna Lisenby after the vote during the covekeepers' monthly meeting at Red Fez Club in Steele Creek.
Goff, who has been a Covekeeper since 2005, will be the second volunteer member to serve as lakekeeper, following Valerie Munei, who stepped down a year ago.
