The days of Cleveland being a two-bar town could be coming to an end. The Cleveland Bar Association and the Cuyahoga County Bar Association, which have competed against each other for nearly 80 years, are exploring a merger that could create a single organization that represents most of the attorneys working in Cuyahoga County.

"We've been able to foster two good, but competitive bar associations,'' Steve Gardner, president of the Cuyahoga County Bar Association, said of the two groups.
