Sep. 19--Replacing all but one starter from last year's district winner, the Jefferson City softball team is not the same team it was a year ago.
Although clearly a different team, the Jays produced the same old, tired result against archrival Hickman yesterday at the Antimi Sports Complex. Behind the two-hit pitching of Heidi Schertzer, the Jays came away with a 2-0 victory.
"With Jeff City, it's kind of a mental thing when we get to the plate," Hickman second baseman Whitney Grathwohl said. "It's kind of frustrating."
The victory all but clinched the No. 1 seed for Jefferson City (12-2) in the Class 4 District 10 ...
