Sep. 19--When Jennifer Branton leaves her job at MeadWestvaco near 6 p.m. most days, it usually takes her up to 45 minutes to travel 22 miles to her home off S.C. Highway 61 near Summerville.

The stop-and-go traffic on I-526 and the creeping traffic down Glenn McConnell Parkway and Bees Ferry Road make for a long commute home that's unnerving and chews up valuable time for the expectant mother.

Her morning commute is a little better since she started going in later because of her pregnancy. But if there's an accident on the road that she hears about on the radio or TV, she stays put.
