HIGH POINT, N.C.--Buyers have stepped back in time this market, finding classical antiquity and Americana the dominant styling trends.
New goods are made to appear aged and weathered, conveying a generally casual and lived-in look.
Vendors, from high end to mass market, are presenting soft colors, earth tones, stone washes and other natural and neutral tones. In many cases, they rely on new finishes to give their lamps a weathered, aged or distressed appearance. Even Stiffel, known for its traditional, polished brass, has toned down the shine in a line with brushed-brass finish.
