Sep. 18--More than 60 years after the ships went down, images of war from the bottom of Truk lagoon are still disturbing: a skull lodged against a bulkhead, claustrophobic passageways, live shells and torpedoes scattered by the violence of an air attack.
Diver Dan Crowell and his associates with Deep Explorers Inc. traveled halfway around the world to film the remains of some of Japan's World War II Pacific fleet for the Discovery Channel after putting the expedition together in Crowell's garage in Brick.
