Spain wants India to cut duties on olive oil import
New Delhi, Sep 19 (PTI) -- Spain, the world's largest producer and exporter of olive oil, aims to increase its share in the Indian market but wants the country to reduce import duties on the commodity.
"We have currently 54 per cent share in India's total olive oil imports and plan to increase it as the market is expected to grow to 3,500 tons," said Jose Antonio B Cordero, Commercial Counsellor at the Spanish Embassy here.
In 2005-06, India's olive oil import was 2.85 million dollars. The domestic market size is currently around 2,000 tons and is expected to increase 75 per cent to 3,500 tons ...
