Sep. 20--Cypress Bay girls' cross country coach Joe Monks is headed into the season feet first.
Since the team started training over the summer, the veteran coach and runner has been careful with how and where his girls have been training.
"The feet are the No. 1 important aspect for a runner," Monks said. "They have to take good care of their feet. Feet are the key to running.
"Whenever we can I have them running on grass so they don't get injured. The concrete really beats the feet up. During their cooldown they will run in their bare feet for about five to 10 minutes because it strengthens ligaments and ...
