L.L. Bean will open its latest store at the Colonie Center in Albany, N.Y., on Sept. 14. The store, which was built to U.S. Green Building Council's LEED standards, uses environmentally friendly materials, fixtures, systems and technology. This marks the company's eighth store outside of its home state of Maine. The 30,000-square-foot unit will remain open 24 hours a day over its first weekend, providing refreshments, live music and giveaways after midnight on Friday and Saturday.
