CHICAGO _ Cyclist Floyd Landis went to greater lengths to prove his innocence from a doping charge than any athlete in history.

Landis created a "wiki" defense, posting all documents in the case on the Internet. He toured the country, preaching to the converted in appearances that were part fundraiser, part medicine show. He insisted on the unprecedented step of having his arbitration hearing open to the public, which also could watch via Webcast. He spent, by his own estimates, nearly $2 million in the process.
