The much under-appreciated local chamber music group the Oakwood Chamber Players will open its new season this weekend with the theme "Seasons of Nature," a year-long homage to musical tributes to nature and all that is natural.
The first concerts will be Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m., both in the Oakwood Village West Auditorium, 6209 Mineral Point Road.
The opening program "Autumn Winds" will include UW composer Douglas Hill's "Scenes from Sand County," a work for mixed ensemble with texts by naturalist Aldo Leopold. Hill, who composed it, will also narrate the work.
