I note that in the paragraph describing the tour of the Balkans in the summer issue of Cineaste the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) is referred to as simply "Macedonia"! Presumably the editors of Cineaste are unaware that the issue of this country's name is still pending and until a final resolution of the problem is effected the name is still the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia or FYROM. Furthermore, in 2005, the country was officially recognized as a European Union candidate state, under the reference "Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia".
