The issue of foreign-supplied parts for the Air Force's next-generation aerial refueling platform, the KC-X, is overblown and misunderstood, says the leader of one of the industry teams competing for the rights to supply the aircraft.

"We think the issue of foreign supply base should be taken off the table," Paul Meyer, Northrop Grumman [NOC] vice president and general manager of the company's KC-30 tanker program, told reporters Tuesday during a presentation in Washington, D.C.
