Sep. 22--Parents who try to use the rating system of the Motion Picture Association of America to filter material for their children are facing new and, perhaps, insurmountable challenges.

Now that more than half of all movie viewing takes place in the home, parents who are careful about what their kids see in theaters have to be equally vigilant about what the pre-teen set might be bringing home from video stores.

Many of the chain stores routinely stock "unrated" versions of hit movies that were released with PG-13 or R-ratings -- such as "Knocked Up" and the new version of the 2004 Brad Pitt vehicle "Troy" -- so parents ...
