Fewer viewers for WNBC news show
Last week, WNBC killed its 5 p.m news and launched a 7 p.m newscast featuring sole anchor Chuck Scarborough (right). Viewers were not impressed.
In its first Monday-to-Thursday stretch, New York Nightly News at 7 p.m. posted a 1.1 rating among 25- to 54-year-olds--a decline of 31% from the same period a year ago, when entertainment program Extra filled the half-hour.
Extra, which moved to the 5 p.m. slot--replacing Live at 5--suffered a 33% drop to a 0.6 rating, according to Nielsen Media Research. WNBC declined to comment, but one station insider blamed the Sept. 11 ...
