Sep. 21--CENTER TWP. -- The Beaver County Humane Society has taken a few more steps toward being able to start work on its new Brodhead Road shelter. The Center Township Planning Commission has approved the society's site plans; it also held a required conditional-use hearing for the site; and Frank Vescio, the township's development coordinator, said there was no opposition to the shelter's plans.
The move from its current site, on property adjacent to the Beaver Valley Mall, is necessary because that land will be part of a planned commercial development west of the mall. The humane society has yet to receive notice that it has to ...
