Occasionally, hype is just ... hype.
After months of speculation about child exploitation and endangerment, the latest CBS reality show, "Kid Nation," premiered Wednesday with the ominous premise "40 kids, 40 days, no adults." (Cue dramatic soundtrack.) Children, ages 8 to 15, would rehabilitate a deserted New Mexico mining town while competing for up to $20,000 in prizes.
Far from "Lord of the Flies," it's more like a rustic "Real World" for 'tweens.
