Sep. 23--MINIMUM WAGE EXPECTED TO RISE 15 CENTS: A new recalculation of the state's minimum wage is expected in the next few weeks.

According to state law, the minimum wage gets recalculated using national consumer price index data, no later than the end of September.

Based on information through July, the new minimum wage is expected to be $6.30 an hour, according to an e-mail that circulated this week in the human resource community. The wage is currently $6.15. Businesses with gross revenue below $110,000 can still pay a minimum of $4.00 an hour.
