Sentiment among AFI panellists has switched to Asia Pacific as rising domestic demand and stockmarket resilience in the region raise expectations of strong long-term performance.
The Adviser Fund Index (AFI) panellists are upbeat on the long-term outlook for Asia Pacific excluding Japan. According to last month's mid- season questionnaire, eight out of 16 respondents expect Asia Pacific to outperform the other major equity regions over the next five years. This marks a shift in sentiment since the February poll, when most favoured the emerging markets and Japan over the longer term.
