With the hope of persuading businesses to invest in domestic violence prevention, State Farm Life Ins. Co. recently announced plans for the development of a corporate alliance.
The initiative, dubbed "Corporate Alliance to End Partner Violence," proposes to be an independent, not-for-profit partnership of Fortune 500 companies who will voluntarily become involved in funding and facilitating abuse prevention and educational efforts.
State Farm's announcement comes just one year after it encountered negative publicity for denying insurance to a battered woman in Pennsylvania with a history of domestic violence and less than a month after a state survey found ...
