Sep. 26--Three victories aren't enough to overcome deeply rooted perceptions about Yerba Buena High, but they're a start.
The Aztec Warriors are a surprising 3-0, despite being only a year removed from an 0-10 season in which Yerba Buena was unquestionably the worst of the 91 football-playing schools in the Central Coast Section.
The winning can stand on its own for a team unaccustomed to it, but each victory also comes with a hammer blow to Yerba Buena's reputation as an underachieving school plagued by gang violence.
