Sep. 26--As a sky diver, longtime Yuma resident Jay Stokes has broken world records and logged more than 16,500 jumps.
This Thursday he and two of his sky-diving cohorts will take to the air over Gila Ridge High School. This jump won't break any records but, for Stokes, it will be a personal milestone.
Stokes will sky dive onto the field at Gila Ridge's Veterans Memorial Stadium to open Thursday's junior varsity football game against San Luis High School.
He will be joined in the 4,500-foot drop by Marine Corps Master Gunnery Sgt. Rich Williams from Marine Corps Air Station Yuma and Roy Fox of Pioneer Aerospace.
