Sep. 27--A 24-year-old Caltrans worker died Tuesday after being struck by a car while he worked on the shoulder at the Interstate 580-680 interchange.
Djuan Bush, of San Leandro, was pronounced dead at 11:35 p.m. Tuesday at Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, about 11 hours after he was hit by a vehicle on the westbound 580 to northbound 680 connector.
"It's always a loss when one of our own dies," said Lauren Wonder, Caltrans spokeswoman. "We're a large department, but everyone feels it."
