Sep. 27--Joe Saunders' bachelor days are behind him. His days of being a yo-yo appear over, too.
After getting sent back to Triple-A four times in three years -- even after wins -- the only former Virginia Tech player in the major leagues has occupied a permanent spot in the Los Angeles Angels' rotation since mid-July.
"I got my opportunity, and I'm just trying to make the most of it," said Saunders, 26, in a phone interview Tuesday. "I'm the only Hokie here [in the majors] and I just want to contribute and make everybody proud -- make my family proud and everybody back ... in Blacksburg."
