Sep. 27--The Luzerne Intermediate Unit hired a pathologist, a therapist and several support staff members at its regular meeting on Wednesday night.
The new hires will work in school districts across Luzerne County.
The hiring of Maria Carchilla, a speech and language pathologist from Hanover Township, was approved at an annual salary of $39,381. Pittston resident Karen Getz was hired as a part-time occupational therapist working two days a week at an hourly rate of $28.40.
