Article: San Beda: A win well-deserved.(The Scene Around)

FROM THE get-go, it was generally acknowledged that the San Beda Red Lions were the team to beat in the 82nd season of the NCAA. That is not to say that the road to the championship was easy pickings.

The Mendiola-based squad faced tough opposition especially from the team they faced in the Finals, the Letran Knights. It was the latter team that reminded everyone that even if San Beda indeed had the best credentials of the group, they were not invincible.

The Knights caught the Bedans unawares the first time they met, eking out a 70-69 win. This, at a time when everyone was starting to talk sweep for Frankie Lim's wards.
