Ken Monteleone grew up with slow food.
Reared in an Italian family in Colorado, his grandfather owned a produce store. His mother's side of the family farmed. This lent itself to a table filled with what today would be considered sustainable and perhaps even gourmet dishes.
Fast forward decades. Monteleone, after traveling around the world with a career in footwear marketing, will launch his specialty shop, Fromagination, on Friday on the Capitol Square.
"My life's experience is in this store," said Monteleone this week as he prepared to open the store at 12 S. Carroll St.
