Sep. 28--Akron officials are checking whether the zoning is in place to permit a company to move stone-crusher equipment to South Akron.
Mar-Zane Materials, based in Zanesville, wants to move the portable equipment from Chillicothe to 101 W. Emerling Ave.
The move has been approved by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.
The equipment has dust controls and is not expected to cause problems in the heavily industrialized area near the Akron Paint and Varnish plant, said Lynn Malcolm, director of the Akron Regional Air Quality Management District.
