Sep. 28--Mexican workers and union leaders Thursday filed charges against an Aurora manufacturing plant alleging discrimination and labor law violations in the wake of what they claim are unjust firings.
The complaints filed with the National Labor Relations Board and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission came one week after about 20 Mexican immigrants walked off the job in a show of protest at the Ballco Manufacturing plant. Union leaders say the workers were unjustly fired for protesting the firings of eight co-workers who were told of problems with their Social Security numbers.
