Sep. 28--The Florida Supreme Court kept alive Thursday a lawsuit seeking to remove slot machines from Broward County's racetracks.
In a seven-page ruling, the state high court found that it didn't have the jurisdiction at this time to consider throwing out the case filed by slots opponents. That means the lawsuit goes back to a Tallahassee circuit judge for trial.
An anti-gambling group and animal rights activists brought the case three years ago, alleging voters' signatures were forged to fraudulently get a constitutional amendment on the state's 2004 general election ballot. That amendment paved the way for slots at ...
