Sep. 28--PHILADELPHIA -- The time to believe has arrived. After what transpired Thursday at Citizens Bank Park, fans have no reason to doubt the veracity of the Phillies' playoff push.
The Phillies have three games left on their regular-season schedule. Zero games separate them from first place in the National League East.
By pounding Atlanta ace John Smoltz, the Phillies forged a tie in the division race. Their 6-4 win, coupled with the Mets' 3-0 loss to St. Louis, knotted the NL East race after 159 games.
The teams tied atop the division standings have traveled divergent paths to this point.
