It could have been a disaster.
Armed with padded bop sticks and plenty of ammo for the dunk tank, hundreds of Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Camp Fire kids wearing uniforms in blue, kelly green and red came together for the first time Saturday in Civic Stadium.
Instead, it was a Scout-a-ganza - the name organizers gave to the event, a day devoted to giving members of the community and Scouts a taste of what each youth organization has to offer.
Camp Fire doled out free corn on the cob and spray painted kids' hair wild shades of sparkly pink and orange. Girl Scouts made candles and turned faces ...
