Sep. 29--NORTON -- The Rev. Robert Jackson has doubled as a priest and a military chaplain for more than 20 years.
On Sunday, that will change, when Jackson officially retires from his post as a military chaplain assigned to the 179th Airlift Wing of the Ohio National Guard in Mansfield.
"I will be able to focus all of my time on the parish," Jackson said. "The people and other priests have been tremendously supportive, but at times that has meant rearranging schedules. The base is an hour away, so many times I would run back and forth doing what was needed at both locations."
