So sayeth the Yooper Creation Story, which you can read on the back page of the plastic-coated menu at Tyelene's Motel & Restaurant.
Or, for one thin dollar, you can have your own copy and learn, in the time that it takes to assess the lunch menu and choose the bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich (a superb selection), that Michigan is populated by Yoopers (about 300,000) and Trolls (about 9.8 million.)
