Sep. 30--NEW CANAAN -- St. Joseph's players and coaches were tired of hearing it. Yeah they were 2-0, but who had they beaten -- The answer was a resounding nobody.
Until Saturday.
Led by yet another career game from senior receiver and defensive back Ryan Carino, St. Joseph announced its arrival as an FCIAC contender with a wild 35-27 upset of New Canaan.
"All we kept hearing was we beat not the greatest two teams in the world (Bassick and Fairfield Ludlowe), we haven't beat anybody yet, and nobody was giving us a shot," said Carino, who caught eight passes for 108 yards and a touchdown, intercepted two ...
