Oct. 1--Jefferson County may have access to a new system that will by next year allow homeowners and businesses to provide pertinent information to emergency responders when a 911 call is placed.
Glenn W. Morrison, interim Jefferson County director of fire and emergency management, said he asked the county for $20,000 in next year's budget to install a 911ai (additional information) system developed by CREG Systems Corp., Watertown.
"The concept is excellent, for the homeowner to be able to provide information for us," Mr. Morrison said.
