Oct. 1--The Palo Alto City Council tonight will consider spending $275,000 on a second blueprint for Mitchell Park Library that would call for converting the library and the adjacent community center into one building.
The budget amendment that would allow the spending would come in addition to the roughly $1.5 million that the council has already allocated for developing designs for the Mitchell site.
The first design calls for rebuilding the library and phasing in a remodel of the community center.
Council Member Dena Mossar said changes are needed to accommodate higher numbers of patrons.
