I have to begin by saying that my decorating partner Shari Hiller and I like to spend time in dark, damp basements. You might be surprised at the cool stuff we have found "below stairs."
Recently, while helping a friend empty out the basement of an older home, we found a six-drawer dresser that she thought had seen better days. I was quick to explain to her that, with a little elbow grease and some effort, we could bring this neglected beauty back to life.
