CHICAGO, May 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Duff & Phelps Credit Rating Co. has assigned a rating of "D-1" to Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency's (SMMPA's) Series B power supply system commercial paper notes, which may be issued in an amount of up to $85.0 million.

The notes are payable from amounts in the commercial paper note account, which is comprised of proceeds from the sale of new notes and advances made by Credit Suisse, New York Branch, under the credit agreement. The credit agreement is a revolving credit facility to provide liquidity support for the payment of the principal of maturing notes.
