Oct. 1--Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Brazos Valley, the local mentoring program that has struggled to stay afloat over the past six years, has a new director with lofty plans for the small program.
Sharon Zambrzycki, former manager of the local American Red Cross, took over last month.
Officials from the parent organization in Austin said they hope the change in leadership will increase the number of volunteers and lead the local branch to financially self-sufficiency.
And Zambrzycki is the person who can do it, they said.
