Iowa stays course with Jake.

Oct. 1--IOWA CITY -- He's been indecisive.

He's definitely held onto the ball too long at times, and he's missed reads and open receivers.

But don't expect Iowa quarterback Jake Christensen to be warming the Hawkeyes' bench anytime soon.

As it happened last year when Drew Tate struggled at times, backup quarterbacks Arvell Nelson and Ricky Stanzi have become the two most popular players on the Iowa sideline.

That was the status Christensen held last year as Tate's backup.

While Christensen had career highs in pass completetions, attempts and yardage Saturday in a 38-20 loss to Indiana, it was far from his best performance.
