AMMAN -- The Criminal Court on Sunday sentenced a 22-year-old Egyptian man to death after convicting him of murdering his friend over JD200 in December 2005.
The tribunal declared Ahmad M. guilty of the premeditated murder of Midhat Ibrahim, 31, also an Egyptian, in a deserted area in Wadi Seer, and handed him the death sentence.
One month before the incident, the defendant reportedly offered to secure an employment contract for one of the victim's relatives in Egypt in return for JD200, according to court papers.
