Oct. 1--UW-La Crosse football coach Larry Terry didn't feel any better Sunday after watching film of the Eagles' 35-28 loss to archrival Whitewater.
If anything, he felt worse.
"In my 30 years (of coaching), this one ranks right up there at the top as one of the toughest because we played pretty well and lost to a good team," Terry said Sunday. "I feel bad for our players and our staff because we worked hard to prepare. We knew we had it in our grasp."
The Eagles took a 28-10 lead into the fourth quarter, looking like a team that was a notch or two better than the two-time defending WIAC champion Warhawks.
