Oct. 1--He has no memory of dates or times of the countless adventures and landscapes he has experienced in more than six decades of an art-filled life, but Antonio Mendoza does remember his teachers' names.
"I have been a musician and painter since an early age," Mendoza said, sitting with one of his guitars on his lap during a recent interview at his studio.
"I was accepted in secondary school at an early age because in those times, there was an urgency to prepare teachers and very few were able to put up with that secondary school, because it was very militaristic; (however) we had great, great teachers, the best."
