Oct. 1--The design is different. The colors are different. The logos are different.
But that didn't stop Arizona State University from sending a cease-and-desist letter to Virginia Beach's
Salem High School last month claiming that the school's SunDevil logo is a trademark violation that infringes on the university's nickname.
It's enough to make you grab a pitchfork.
"We are writing to request that Salem High School discontinue use of the "Sun Devils" trademark in all school-affiliated settings. These uses include, but are not limited to: wearable merchandise, school Internet web pages, athletic uniforms ...
