Sep. 29--Devereux completed the sale of its 33-acre Goleta Valley Campus for more than $27 million to UCSB this week, but it will lease back approximately 4 acres to continue providing its services to those with developmental disabilities.
UCSB paid the asking price of $27.5 million for the property, Martie Levy, director of capital development for budget and planning at UCSB, told the News-Press. The sale includes 37 buildings totaling 170,000 square feet, along with entitlements to possibly expand the facilities.
The sale of the property puts an end to a troubled chapter in Devereux's long history in Goleta.
