Oct. 2--The issue of workplace equality between the genders is a persistent struggle in academia, according to veterans in education and experts. And Long Island is no exception.
Last week, the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed a sex discrimination class action against Adelphi University alleging it pays full-time female professors less than their male counterparts of similar status, a claim the university denies.
